Allegheny Portage Railroad National Historic Site will begin Winter Hours of Operation on November 1, 2019. Park buildings; including the Summit Level Visitor Center, Engine House 6 and the Lemon House will be closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Park buildings will be open Fridays-Tuesdays from 9 AM- 5 PM. Park buildings will be closed for Federal winter holidays including Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day and George Washington’s Birthday. Park grounds are open daily from sunrise to sunset. For safety, the Superintendent may adjust operating hours during inclement weather. We will resume our 7 day a week operations on May 1, 2020.
